My Slim in 6 week Plan
So my plan is to start Slim in 6 on Monday. Today I started my 2-day fast using Beachbody's Fast Start formula. I've used it before back in the day when I committed to Power 90. So that was November 2004 I believe. It helped me then and I know it will help me again.
What I mean by "helping me", I mean it will help cleanse my body of the nasty stuff, help me kick the garbage I've been eating here and there during the week, and shrink my stomach a little so I don't eat as much.
I'm going to go back to eating about 1600 calories a day. Due to my lack of consistent exercise and inconsistent nutritional options I've been making, I haven't gained any wieght but I'm not making any progress towards my goals I have set for myself during this 300 Challenge.
Slim in 6 will be a great workout for me since there is a lot of lower body, some of the upper body moves I will be cleared for next week when I see my doc, and those that I can't do I'll modify or just skip.
With a modified Slim in 6 rotation along with my crazy semester of phsycial activity classes (fitness, track/softball, Education Gymnastics, & Intro to golf) as well as my P.E. Methods classes, I think I will achieve my goals for this 300 Challenge, even though I has a slow August.

My Trip to California: Idea Fit Expo - Day 2
Not to talk too much about the business but mine and Traci's and upline Coach, Milan Jensen and one of her coaches, Miles, had a P90X/Team Beachbody display which simply rocked!! Plus Tony Horton was there and he did 3 brand new 10 Minute Trainers back to back in the AM and it was a trip to see all these super fit, ripped folks struggling to keep up. Any ways, it was a blast and I'll be heading to Santa Monica/Muscle Beach on Sunday to hang with Tony and his Beach crew to watch them as they go through their beach workout.
Honestly, there are maybe 10 spots left for Philly camp. If you are in the area and you can attend you really should come and meet this guy. We all say that "he is the man" and we mean that with 100% honesty but he's just more than that. He is down to earth, real, humble and just a geniune guy whose energy and passion for living a full life is contagious. Get to camp and get some of that. You can find more info at www.TonyHortonFitnessCamp.com. Plus we get to hang out. How fun is that?!?!
Any way, here is a pic of Me, Traci, and Milan at the P90X booth at the Idea Fit Expo. Talk to you all soon and keep bringing it!!

Power 90 meets the 300 Challenge
I've been struggling to find something I can do that I enjoy and that will allow me to get a good sweat, burn some calories and start chipping away at these inches. POWER 90 More specifically Power 90: Sweat 3-4. I can't remember the last time I did that workout but it is exactly what I need. I honestly think the last time I consistently did Power 90 was when I first lost my initial 31 lbs.
It's been too long since I've done a Tony program consistently due to my injury. Before my injury I was burning through a 1-on-1 rotation Mark Briggs and I created. I can't realy do any punching or big arm movements so Turbo Jam is out. Wasn't feeling Hip Hop Abs, Slim in 6 is to slow for me and Power 90 is what I feel the doctor ordered.
I ruptured my pec on May 4, had surgery on the 20th so I had a good 2 months of inactivity, and a third month of inconsist exercise. I need to get into a rotation that 1) I can do and be safe doing, 2) I enjoy and 3) will help me to achieve my goals during this 300 Challenge while I continue to rehab. So my plan for the month of August is Power 90: Sweat 3-4 at least 3 times a week. I will do Legs and Back once a week (no back), possibly Plyo but that may wait till September, and 1-on-1 Bun Shaper because it's lower impact and little to no strain on my shoulder. And I may go to the gym once a week and ride the bike to feel like I at least used my waste-of-money gym membership.
For Power 90: Sweat 3-4, I skip the yoga and the punching. During Power Yoga, I'll do some of my rehad exercises, and during punching, I redo the low impact, knees up. Once I build up my base again, I'll probably move to Power 90: Sweat 5-6 Master series depending on my rehab and where I am physically.
There is just something about working out with Tony on the TV that makes your workouts fun, motivating and more enjoyable. He's the man. There is no doubt and I know that Beachbody has some of the best trainers but you just can't beat Tony Horton in my opinion. Can't wait to see him again when I go out to California this week.

Joey
