Power 90 meets the 300 Challenge
So I'm still playing with my 30-day month of August rotation. I thought I had it but last week I realized my legs can only handle so much before they feel like they are going to fall off, plus I get really bored with going to the gym, (worst idea ever was spending $40 for 2 months. I think I went 8 times so far.) so the stationay bike is pretty much out.
I've been struggling to find something I can do that I enjoy and that will allow me to get a good sweat, burn some calories and start chipping away at these inches. POWER 90 More specifically Power 90: Sweat 3-4. I can't remember the last time I did that workout but it is exactly what I need. I honestly think the last time I consistently did Power 90 was when I first lost my initial 31 lbs.
It's been too long since I've done a Tony program consistently due to my injury. Before my injury I was burning through a 1-on-1 rotation Mark Briggs and I created. I can't realy do any punching or big arm movements so Turbo Jam is out. Wasn't feeling Hip Hop Abs, Slim in 6 is to slow for me and Power 90 is what I feel the doctor ordered.
I ruptured my pec on May 4, had surgery on the 20th so I had a good 2 months of inactivity, and a third month of inconsist exercise. I need to get into a rotation that 1) I can do and be safe doing, 2) I enjoy and 3) will help me to achieve my goals during this 300 Challenge while I continue to rehab. So my plan for the month of August is Power 90: Sweat 3-4 at least 3 times a week. I will do Legs and Back once a week (no back), possibly Plyo but that may wait till September, and 1-on-1 Bun Shaper because it's lower impact and little to no strain on my shoulder. And I may go to the gym once a week and ride the bike to feel like I at least used my waste-of-money gym membership.
For Power 90: Sweat 3-4, I skip the yoga and the punching. During Power Yoga, I'll do some of my rehad exercises, and during punching, I redo the low impact, knees up. Once I build up my base again, I'll probably move to Power 90: Sweat 5-6 Master series depending on my rehab and where I am physically.
There is just something about working out with Tony on the TV that makes your workouts fun, motivating and more enjoyable. He's the man. There is no doubt and I know that Beachbody has some of the best trainers but you just can't beat Tony Horton in my opinion. Can't wait to see him again when I go out to California this week.
Later,
Joey

You ruptured a pec?!?!? OUCH!!! That sounds super painful, and I broke my kneecap before, and what you did sounds more painful than that!! I do love power 90, though. I know that I'll eventually move on to P90X or Insanity at some point, but the workout really provides a strong base, and does have some challenging workouts, like Sweat 3-4. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
