Tony Horton's 11 Laws.
Tony Horton is one of the world's most respected (and motivational) fitness experts, Tony gets people in incredible shape fast. He's most famous for creating such programs as the efficient 10-Minute Trainer®, the effective Power 90® , and the extreme P90X®.
I have learned so much from my experience with Tony, whether it has been from working out to Power 90® or P90X®, reading his blog, or attending his ftness camps, the man's experience and wealth of knowledge that I've learned from him must be shared with all of you.
What I'm about to post is really just the tip of the iceburg. The adventure of change truely starts to happen when you Decide. Commit. Succeed. with Team Beachbody and their fitness programs. What I'm about to share are Tony's "11 Laws" that he uses to develop his own fitness workouts and when he creates programs like Power 90® and P90X®.

This is part one in a series on Tony's guide to health and fitness to view the rest check out the Team Beachbody Club. The "11 Laws" will be examined in greater detail in subsequent issues.
1. Variety. Variety is the spice of life and fitness. A lifetime of health and fitness is achievable when you can think outside the box. You have to mix it up all the time. Stay curious, creative, and stick with the kinds of workouts that you enjoy. A variety of exercises, workouts, and sports will allow you to avoid injuries, plateaus, and boredom.
2. Consistency. Improvement and change occur when you do things often. Stopping and starting all the time will kill any momentum you need to succeed. You must find ways to stay in the game. Moderate forms of exercise, done consistently, provide far better results than the occasional full-body pummeling. A lifestyle that includes multiple forms of exercise five to six days a week guarantees results.
3. Intensity. YOU'RE TOUGHER THAN YOU THINK. The fear of pain or injury from working out is a mindset steeped in failure. You must learn to "Find the Line." Do the extra rep or two, increase your range of motion, and increase resistance as you get stronger. Intensity goes hand in hand with Variety and Consistency. The combination of the three work together as a triad that creates a platform for success. The programs provide variety. Your plan will keep you consistent.
4. Purpose. Your purpose is to have a better life. Exercise and eating right help you feel better. When you feel better, you do more. When you do more, you meet other people. A healthy lifestyle gives us the energy to be better than before. We want to participate, share, communicate, and build a community—have purpose in our lives. If you had never found Beachbody, you might be right back where you were—isolated, with nothing to share, no purpose, because you weren't doing anything with anyone.
5. Reality. Why do we want life to be different than it is? Why do we think about who we were and who we're going to be more than who we are? We certainly talk a good game about who we are now. Why do we try to predict the future with the hope that wishful thinking is enough to change it? Life is NOT the way it was. It's the way it is. Life is not our fantasy predictions of the future or our glory days of the past. Life is that thing that is happening to you as you read this. We fall into the trap of living in the past and future because right here is not good enough. Back then and up there are keeping you from right now.
6. Sports. Take the onus off of weight, inches, and body fat percentages and put the focus on MOVING—from dancing, rock climbing, and mountain biking to table tennis. I love that ping-pong! Think in terms of "can do" instead of "look like." Sports are fun and help develop balance and coordination—which in turn accelerates your results. Jump, kick, run, spin, throw, skate, shoot, hit, score, compete . . . PLAY!
7. The Plan. SCHEDULE ALL WORKOUTS IN ADVANCE. This creates accountability. Plan an entire month ahead of time. Try to schedule as many workouts as possible with friends who have similar goals. WOWY was developed so that we could find an easy and effective way to stay accountable and work out together. Now we've got people in Trumbull, CT (my hometown), doing Power 90 at the same time with people in Hollywood. That is cool!
8. Sleep (and stress). Stressed out, sleep-deprived people don't eat right and exercise regularly. Stress depletes energy, strength, and desire, while poor sleep habits affect your moods and immune function along with cognitive and motor performance. Burning the candle at both ends makes it impossible to be fit and healthy.
9. Loving It. Exercise and workouts involve commitment, determination, planning, consistency, and intensity. If you don't like what you're doing, there's no way on earth you'll succeed. Enthusiasm is a very big piece of the puzzle. Get creative and stay curious. If you enjoy doing Power 90 exclusively and it works for you, then keep doing it until it doesn't. If you get part way through P90X and it's not your cup of tea, then stop, and do something else. Something's got to bring you back day after day, week after week. Love it (tolerate it) or leave it.
10. Flexibility. Flexibility is the fountain of youth. Flexible people are much less prone to injury. Yoga and stretching allow you to bring more intensity to your workouts. Flexibility is the key component to becoming less vulnerable and more durable. Aging has a funny way of making everything we do harder. Staying limber and flexible is the way to prevent that from happening.
11. Food and Supplements. You are what you eat! Food and supplements are your fuel. The right fuel supplies proper energy and recovery through balanced brain chemistry. The right supplements simply fill in gaps in your diet.

So you say you are going on vacation...
So I hear this from my customers a lot. A lot of them travel for work or go on vacation like most Americans do. What happens is they tend to forget their DVD's or decide just not to bring them. Here is a gem of a workout that is only available to Team Beachbody Club members that I'm giving to you all for free. This is just one of the many benefits the Team Beachbody Club has to offer. Round 1
1. Run in place (1 minute)

4. Standard push-ups (max reps)

2. Hip rock and raise (30 reps)

When I Think about Shakeology® . . .

My Shakeology
When I think about Shakeology, I think "Results."
In the five months I've been sharing it, I've been bombarded with testimonies from satisfied Coaches and customers on the awesome results they've achieved. Of course, individual results may vary, but I have heard some incredible stories: migraines disappearing, waistlines shrinking, aches and pains ceasing, breathing becoming clearer. They haven't been sick since starting, have increased energy* . . . The list goes on!
I like the feeling of knowing that I have helped someone become healthier. It is clear to me that every time I share Shakeology, it is the chance to help someone change his or her life. This is one wonderful career choice I have made! I have a passion for helping people become the best they can be!
I am a huge supporter of the entire Game Plan, but let's focus on #2: be a product of the product.
My own personal testimony has appeal because most people are interested in knowing what the person standing in front of them is doing . . . They can feel the passion and the real energy vibes; they KNOW if someone is indeed experiencing results!
Plus, you might as well become a Shakeologer and tap into the very best meal replacement available! You'll reach a higher level of health from the inside out. Without Shakeology, physical fitness is like trying to clean a dirty pot's outside area, but leaving the grime and buildup on the inside. Ahhh, no one will notice . . . slap a lid on it and BOOM: clean pot! But we all know that pot is gross inside! Let's clean our insides, people. Let yourself SHINE with a healthy body from the inside out.
(By the way, I love giving this analogy at Team Beachbody® Briefings. I even have a picture of a really gross pot in hi-def!)
After the pot parable, I share my own thoughts about how Shakeology has helped me and my family with a prospect. I always follow up with a 3rd Party Tool. This way, they can have full access to all the information they need, tied up in a pretty package! My personal theory is: "Passion sets the stage; 3rd Party Tools seal the deal."
I also think of Shakeology with "results" in mind because of the tremendous growth Shakeology-sharing has given my business and Team. At our last Team Beachbody® Briefing, most of the questions asked by the prospective Coaches were about how Shakeology could help them personally.
Being able to purchase our monthly supply of Shakeology at wholesale, and of course become active right away, are two huge benefits of the Team Beachbody Business Opportunity. Four of my Personally Sponsored Coaches, who started their coaching business with this as their motivator, are all actively growing their business. One of those Coaches reached Emerald in just one week from her start date because she told people she was starting Shakeology.
Shakeology is like a diamond, with many facets, and, thanks to our Team Beachbody marketing department, lots of sparkle! I have a premonition that it will be on everyone's counter at one point, and I am honored to be a part of sharing it!
